Lekompo artist Shebeshxt, real name Lehlogonolo Chauke remains behind bars ahead of his trial which has been postponed to September.
Chauke was arrested in November 2026 for a string of charges including attempted murder, illegal possession of a firearm and more. His multiple bail applications since his arrest have all been denied including his urgent bail application to be released for medical attention.
A judge at the Polokwane Regional court recently ruled that the rapper can use the hospital used by all prisoners to get treatment for his leg while they wait for the trial to begin.
The court postponed his trial to September 10, 2026, to allow his defence team to consult with him regarding recently added charges, which include culpable homicide and reckless or negligent driving. He remains in custody.
The State added the new charges and amended his total count to 21, while withdrawing one firearm possession charge.
