Rapper Shebeshxt Denied Bail Again

Limpopo Lekompo artist Lehlogonolo Chauke, popularly known as Shebeshxt is facing a long journey to freedom. Yesterday, the rapper was denied bail once again after his legal team tried to overturn the December decision made at the Polokwane high court to keep him behind bars.
Previously, his lawyer, Advocate Isaac Mokgopo, acting on instructions from Ramusi Attorneys, had previously applied for R50,000 bail.
However, investigating officer, Warrant Officer Phaladi Makola, reportedly opposed the bail, telling the court that the musician has had repeated run-ins with the law over the years.

Makola said Shebeshxt has failed to make use of the many second chances he has been given since 2015.
Shebe faces nine serious charges, including three counts of attempted murder. His most recent arrest followed a shooting incident in Ladanna, Polokwane, in which two men were shot. One of the victims remains in a critical condition in hospital.
The matter is expected back in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on 18 February 2026.
