Sultana Khaya

“Have we forgotten the women of Western Sahara?" This question lingers as we get into conversation with Saharawi human rights activist, Sultana Khaya, who has been on house arrest for over a year for being an advocate for the independence of Western Sahara. With over a year of being forcefully detained in her home where her and her family are subjected to constant attacks and violence, one can’t help but wonder what the fate of many other Saharawi women has been. We get insight into what life has been for her everyday as she remains resilient and unyielding in her activism.
