Popular DJ Tira has announced that this year’s Fact Durban Rocks New Year’s Eve show will be the last he and his current partners host after 14 years.

The award winning dj is now selling the trademark to anyone who is willing to continue with the legacy.

According to the statement released: “Since July, we have received many concerns about us closing early at midnight for NYE, and we understand those sentiments. We wanted to observe how the response would be regarding the New Year's Eve closing times from the city before determining our next steps.

Fact has been operating from 6pm to 6am twice a year since July 2011. We are proud to have been the first brand to emerge from COVID with two picnics and the only event to host two outdoor broadcasts during that challenging period.

This December will mark our 30th FACT event, which feels like a meaningful milestone. We believe it's the right moment to pass the torch to some new, upcoming talent.

This New Year's Eve will be the final event organized by the current partners. In January 2026, the FACT brand and its trademarks will be put up for sale. We have cherished every FACT event and especially value the lasting relationships we've built with our community-those who appreciated the late-night hours and the effort to ensure safe transportation home.”

Throughout the years, we've faced many challenges, but the support from our fans, sponsors, and partners has been incredible. We are deeply grateful to the city, province, and many others who have believed in us along the way. Most of all, we thank our loyal attendees who, through rain or shine, have always made FACT a top-tier experience.
