DStv is adding BASE Pulse, a brand-new entertainment channel that launched on Thursday, 19 March at 10:00 on DStv Channel 322. The channel is designed to showcase African music and pop culture trends, and will be available on DStv Premium, Compact Plus, Compact and Access, further expanding the entertainment options available to younger audiences.  Speaking on the launch, Nomsa Philiso, Director: Content and General Entertainment in English and Portuguese Africa, for the MultiChoice Group, a CANAL+ company, says: "We are committed to bringing value to our customers by offering the content they enjoy and connect with. BASE Pulse captures authentic and fresh African perspective." BASE Pulse has been created by Pulse Entertainment, a South African media house on a mission to reshape how African stories are created, distributed, and experienced, seamlessly bridging broadcast, digital, social, and experiential platforms to build globally competitive African intellectual property. Viewers can expect a vibrant mix of their favourite hits, exclusive new releases, interviews with their favourite musicians, TikTok dance challenges, and themed music blocks. At the forefront of the channel are Lerai Rakoditsoe, the trailblazing TV presenter who made history as the first African to host a show on Nickelodeon Africa, and Teboho "Fresh by Caddy" Tsotetsi, an actor, tastemaker, and radio DJ. BASE Pulse presenter, Fresh by Caddy says: "Africa has the youngest population in the world, and their stories deserve to be told at scale. As BASE Pulse, our commitment is to empower the next generation of creatives and give them a stage that stretches far beyond the continent."
