South Africa singer Makhadzi has announced that she is postponing the highly anticipated release of her newest album. This comes after she was found in the middle of a contractual dispute with a local concert promoter in Botswana which left her and her team stranded in a foreign country for three days. The award-winning artist took to social media to voice her frustration and concerns after it became apparent that the promoter was set on withholding her travel documents because of the said dispute. The matter reportedly involved disagreements over a performance agreement, with allegations surrounding the handling of her travel documents and personal belongings. The Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) confirmed that it had intervened through the South African High Commission in Gaborone to assist the singer and her team. Following their safe return to South Africa, Makhadzi says she is relieved to be back home after spending three days in Botswana, adding that she will postpone her upcoming album release to the end of November while continuing to promote her One Woman Show. Despite the rather unfortunate situation she and her team found themselves in, she remains committed to promoting her One Woman Show taking place on 24 December at the Peter Mokaba stadium in Polokwane.
