Mlandeli Tengimfene, the manager of slain South Africa boxing champion Zolani Tete alleges Tete's killers were paid R60 000 to commit the murder. 38 year old Tete was gunned down over a week ago outside his house in Mdantsane, Eastern Cape by unknown suspects who fired at him while inside his car. Unfortunately a 27 year old female passenger believed to be his girlfriend was also shot and injured during the shooting. Tete's manager also spoke to the media sharing his devastation about Tete's death: “Devastating news, tragic news to us, particularly myself and the boxing community. People around there, everybody was crying when it was confirmed that Zolani is no more. Family, we met as the family. It’s unbelievable. We never thought of it. We’ve been with Zolani from birth; for us to get to this kind of news, something that was unexpected, it’s devastating.” Police have since arrested 4 suspects who they believe were behind the the premeditated murder.
